NEOTEC Board of Trustees Elects Officers for 2011

February 3, 2011

At their recent quarterly meeting, members of the board of trustees of the Northeast Ohio Trade and Economic Consortium (NEOTEC) elected officers for 2011. Elected officers include: Chairman – Tracy Drake, CEO of the Columbiana County Port Authority, East Liverpool, OH; Vice Chairman – Rick Hale, president and CEO of Winner Aviation Corporation, Vienna, OH; Secretary – Iris Harvey, vice president of university relations at Kent State University, Kent, OH; and Treasurer – Steve Paquette, president and CEO of Stark Development Board, Canton, OH.

NEOTEC is an economic development partnership that works as a regional force to attract capital investments, create jobs and enhance economic opportunities throughout Northeast Ohio. As a private, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, NEOTEC provides economic development services on behalf of the Joint Office of Economic Development (JOED), which is comprised of the commissioners and county executive of NEOTEC’s nine member counties. These include Ashtabula, Columbiana, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, and Trumbull counties.

NEOTEC’s regional efforts are focused on promoting international trade through the administration of Foreign-Trade Zone 181 and the services of the International Trade Assistance Center, and on improving market access through the administration of the Northeast Ohio Logistics Network. NEOTEC also works to attract foreign direct investment to Northeast Ohio through its Global Business Development Initiative (GBDI).

NEOTEC is based in Kent on the campus of Kent State University, which partners with NEOTEC in its economic development efforts.
